Prof. Defriman Djafri

publichealth.id was founded by Prof. Defriman Djafri, S.K.M., M.K.M., Ph.D., Professor of Epidemiology at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Andalas, as a place to share knowledge, current updates, and public health training for Indonesia.

Prof. Defriman Djafri, S.K.M., M.K.M., Ph.D. is Professor of Epidemiology at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia. He served as Dean of the Faculty for two terms (2016–2024) and was inaugurated as Professor in April 2025 with a lecture on the integration of artificial intelligence in modern epidemiology.

His research spans infectious disease epidemiology, disaster management, climate change, and health policy — 98 publications since 2007 with around 250 citations.
